Privacy Policy

LumaSift ("the app", "we", "us") is a photo and video cleanup utility for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains what data the app handles. The short version: your photos and videos never leave your device, and we do not operate any server that receives your personal data.
1. Data we do not collect
LumaSift is intentionally built to require almost no data. We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share:
- Your photos, videos, or any media content.
- Image analysis results, thumbnails, or perceptual hashes.
- Account information; there is no account and no sign-up.
- Contacts, email, calendars, location, or device identifiers for tracking.
- Analytics or advertising data; the app contains no analytics SDK and no ad SDK.
2. On-device processing
All scanning and analysis happens locally on your device using Apple's PhotoKit, Vision, and Core ML frameworks. Visual similarity, text presence, blur, exposure, and similar signals are computed on-device and used only to rank and explain suggestions. This data is not uploaded anywhere and is not retained beyond what is needed to display your review queues.
3. Photo library permission
LumaSift requests access to your photo library solely to scan it, present review queues, and move items you explicitly confirm to Apple's Recently Deleted. You can change or revoke this permission at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos. LumaSift never deletes anything permanently; removed items remain recoverable in Recently Deleted for 30 days per Apple Photos.
4. Purchases
Purchases (Annual and Lifetime plans) are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit 2 and the App Store. We do not see or store your payment details. Apple manages billing, receipts, and subscription status. Your Apple ID purchase information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
5. iCloud Photos
If iCloud Photos is enabled on your device, deletions you confirm in LumaSift are made through Apple Photos and will sync across your devices via Apple's iCloud service. LumaSift itself does not upload media to iCloud or any other cloud; this syncing is handled by iOS, under your Apple ID and Apple's terms.
6. No tracking
LumaSift does not use third-party tracking, advertising identifiers, cross-app tracking, or data brokers. We do not build a profile of you.
7. Children's privacy
LumaSift is a general-purpose utility and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
8. Changes to this policy
If a future version of LumaSift adds any feature that changes how data is handled, such as crash reporting, support chat, or optional cloud features, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy labels before that feature ships, and describe it clearly here.
